Being the victim. I will clarify that. I am in no way a victim to anybody or anything.
But, unfortunately, the world is full of people that continue to be the
victim. Whether they are a victim in a marriage, whether they are the
victim of social violence or, whatever, these people are out there and I
believe this all comes about because each of us has our own choices to
make in life.

It has been said you are the architect of your own destiny. That's very true in a lot of ways.
Sure, apart from health issues we are the architects of our own destiny.
We can say who we want to be, where we want to be and what time we want
to be there.

But so many people can find fault with everybody but not themselves.
They are never wrong. If they keep blaming everyone else for things
that have gone wrong in their life or anything like that, they all of a
sudden start to become the victim. And once you get into a rut of
becoming the victim you will not get out of that, not without a great
deal of soul searching.

until broadband started to rule the internet that internet radio came

We were all tied down to sitting and reading stopping us from doing
other things. Now that internet radio is becoming a huge medium, you can

There is so much misinformation centered around the MLM or network marketing industry that people who enter into it are destined to fail. When you listen to the wrong people or listen to people who have failed then you will in turn fail yourself. Now, people don't set out to fail but when coupled with people who don't understand how to create wealth, they become the very thing they are trying to avoid. This is unnecessary and does not have to happen. If MLM or Network Marketing did not work it would not be such a huge industry and growing every year by massive proportions globally.

The way to tell when someone is approaching you that does not understand the MLM/Network Marketing model is when they begin to talk to you about a particular company instead of the process. When anyone leads with the company first they don't understand the process and without an understanding of the process they become part of the 80%.

The 80/20 Rule

There is an economic rule called the 80/20 Rule. This was discovered by Vilfredo Pareto who was a professor of economics at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland. He discovered that 80% of the real estate in Italy was controlled by 20% of the people. He started to explore this theory in other fields and found out that it held true no matter where he looked. So when we apply the 80/20 Rule to MLM/Network Marketing we can see why people fail.

If 20% 0f the people are making 80% of the revenue this proves that 80% of the people are only making 20% of the revenue. With the MLM industry growing to become a 200 Billion Dollar industry by 2010, then this proves that it is a viable industry, and that 20% of the people are responsible for 80% of the growth. You in turn would want to listen to the 20% who are making the industry grow instead of the 80% who are not. But unfortunately the 80% think they have the answers and consequently they lead people down a path of failure.

Look at it this way... the MLM industry was created over 50 years ago and was created without the internet and technology. The MLM business model was created in a very simple form and was designed to be followed in a very simple way. When simplicity is removed and things are made complicated then results break down.

Many people feel that they have to sell in this model therefore they look for sales people. Well statistics show that 5% of the people in the world are sales people, therefore 95% are not. The non sales people spend their time looking for the 5% so you end up with a lot of people looking for a small amount of people. Consequently, people get disgruntled and quit. Or they say they don't want to sell and quit. Either way they have been set up for failure.

Look at it this way, if you owned a car lot and had 300 cars on the lot to sell but no one knew how to drive in the town, you could be the greatest sales person in the world but you would have no one to sell the cars to. What would you have to do? You would have to teach everyone how to drive, wouldn't you? We teach you how to drive!

We have gotten access to old MLM business model information and know how to apply this in modern times. We have seen results by going back to basics, and you can too. This is not a sales model, but the 80% have made it one. No wonder people fail! MLM/NETWORK MARKETING IS NOT A SALES MODEL and never should be perceived as such!

MLM Compensation Plans

MLM Compensation Plans

MLM compensation plans remain a mystery to large numbers of people trying to make money from some multi-level marketing system. Its relevant to understand that most will never take the time, nor make the effort to fully understand how they are going to get paid! Yet another riddle that Mentors on a Mission will break the mystery of! Below, find a brief rundown of the basic MLM comp plans.

Unilevel plans

This type of plan is often considered the simplest of compensation plans. As the name suggests, the plan allows a person to sponsor one line of distributors, called a "frontline." Every distributor the person sponsors is considered to be on that sponsor's frontline and there are no width limitations, meaning there is no limit to the amount of people one can sponsor in the frontline. The common goal of this plan is to recruit a large number of frontline distributors and then encourage them to do the same. This is due to the fact that commissions are normally paid out on a limited depth, which typically means sponsor can earn commissions on sales between 5 and 7 levels deep.

Stairstep Breakaway plans

This type of plan is characterized as having representatives who are responsible for both personal and group sales volumes. Volume is created by recruiting and by retailing product. Various discounts or rebates may be paid to group leaders and a group leader can be any representative with one or more downline recruits. Once predefined personal and/or group volumes are achieved, a representative moves up a commission level. This continues until the representative's sales volume reaches the top commission level and "breaks away" from their upline. From that point on, the new group is no longer considered part of his upline's group and the multi-level compensation aspect ceases. The original upline usually continues to be compensated through override commissions and other incentives.

Matrix plans

This type of plan is similar to a Uni-Level plan, except there is also a limited number of representatives who can be placed on the first level. Recruits beyond the maximum number of first level positions allowed are automatically placed in other downline (lower level) positions. Matrix plans often have a maximum width and depth. When all positions in a representative's downline matrix are filled (maximum width and depth is reached for all participants in a matrix), a new matrix may be started. Like Uni-Level plans, representatives in a matrix earn unlimited commissions on limited levels of volume with minimal sales quotas.

Binary plans

A binary plan is a multilevel marketing compensation plan which allows distributors to have only two front-line distributors. If a distributor sponsors more than two distributors, the excess are placed at levels below the sponsoring distributor's front-line. This "spillover" is one of the most attractive features to new distributors since they need only sponsor two distributors to participate in the compensation plan. The primary limitation is that distributors must "balance" their two downline legs to receive commissions. Balancing legs typically requires that the number of sales from one downline leg constitute no more than a specified percentage of the distributor's total sales.

Hybrid plans

Compensation plans that are constructed using elements of more than one type of compensation plan.

No matter the compensation plan, it is important for all people to acquaint themselves with not only the money aspect of MLM marketing, but also the policies and procedures that govern that company. And yet, Marketer Joe and Mary go along their way touting the greatest jungle juice in the world that will cure all your illnesses and make you and incredible amount of money, for little or no effort.

MLM Marketer Joe and Mary go off on Google and advertise their business as the latest and greatest medical find in the history of the world. They buy Google pay per click advertising to promote their business. They go on forums to talk about their greatest MLM business venture. They use Facebook, Twitter and NING to talk about with their friends their great business. They use every classified ad service like Craigslist, to advertise their new found answer to the history of mankind product that is going to make over a billion dollars in the next year, while all this time, energy, money and pride they are sacrificing, they are not making one thin dime for their efforts...BUT...and this is a very important BUT...they are simply falling into the same old routine as everyone else is doing. They are "Faking It, Until They Make It!" And there, my friend, is your answer to the whole problem of the MLM industry. You have less than 20% of the people actually building an MLM business in the right way, while the other 80% of the people are simply trying to get rich quick with little or no effort. After returning last night from another successful jewelry party, it became clearer to me what starting a jewelry business really means. It is great to gather with people, show off my exclusive line of jewelry, and hear the voices of excitement concerning the latest jewelry designs that are coming. The people that I come in contact with are seeing jewelry as a great way to accent their wardrobes, but more importantly, it is a business that literally anyone can develop.

A jewelry business is much more than selling jewelry. I know that the word selling brings thoughts of failing right off the bat. Let me tell you one simple thing. It is not about selling. MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) and the 80/20 Rule

In 1906, Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto created a mathematical formula to describe the unequal distribution of wealth in his country, observing that twenty percent of the people owned eighty percent of the wealth. In the late 1940s, Dr. Joseph M. Juran inaccurately attributed the 80/20 Rule to Pareto, calling it Pareto's Principle. While it may be misnamed, Pareto's Principle or Pareto's Law as it is sometimes called, can be a very effective tool to help you manage effectively.

Where It Came From

After Pareto made his observation and created his formula, many others observed similar phenomena in their own areas of expertise. Quality Management pioneer, Dr. Joseph Juran, working in the US in the 1930s and 40s recognized a universal principle he called the "vital few and trivial many" and reduced it to writing. In an early work, a lack of precision on Juran's part made it appear that he was applying Pareto's observations about economics to a broader body of work. The name Pareto's Principle stuck, probably because it sounded better than Juran's Principle.

As a result, Dr. Juran's observation of the "vital few and trivial many", the principle that 20 percent of something always are responsible for 80 percent of the results, became known as Pareto's Principle or the 80/20 Rule.

What It Means

The 80/20 Rule means that in anything a few (20 percent) are vital and many(80 percent) are trivial. In Pareto's case it meant 20 percent of the people owned 80 percent of the wealth. In Juran's initial work he identified 20 percent of the defects causing 80 percent of the problems. Project Managers know that 20 percent of the work (the first 10 percent and the last 10 percent) consume 80 percent of your time and resources. You can apply the 80/20 Rule to almost anything, from the science of management to the physical world.

You know 20 percent of your stock takes up 80 percent of your warehouse space and that 80 percent of your stock comes from 20 percent of your suppliers. Also 80 percent of your sales will come from 20 percent of your sales staff. 20 percent of your staff will cause 80 percent of your problems, but another 20 percent of your staff will provide 80 percent of your production. It works both ways.

How It Can Help You

The value of the Pareto Principle for a manager is that it reminds you to focus on the 20 percent that matters. Of the things you do during your day, only 20 percent really matter. Those 20 percent produce 80 percent of your results. Identify and focus on those things. When the fire drills of the day begin to sap your time, remind yourself of the 20 percent you need to focus on. If something in the schedule has to slip, if something isn't going to get done, make sure it's not part of that 20 percent.

There is a management theory floating around at the moment that proposes to interpret Pareto's Principle in such a way as to produce what is called Superstar Management. The theory's supporters claim that since 20 percent of your people produce 80 percent of your results you should focus your limited time on managing only that 20 percent, the superstars. The theory is flawed, as we are discussing here because it overlooks the fact that 80 percent of your time should be spent doing what is really important. Helping the good become better is a better use of your time than helping the great become terrific. Apply the Pareto Principle to all you do, but use it wisely.

Manage This Issue

Pareto's Principle, the 80/20 Rule, should serve as a daily reminder to focus 80 percent of your time and energy on the 20 percent of you work that is really important. Don't just "work smart", work smart on the right things.

I would dare say that most of us are guilty at doing things in our day, that simply do not matter. I think that this applies especially to Internet marketing. Time wasting seems to be rampant on the net. People tend to spend more time surfing and chatting, than they actually do in accomplishing work that will help them build their business.

Of course, social networking on Google does have its place; however, using it to build businesses is quite the fools game. People there are interested in "when Mary took her cat to the vet," rather than people looking to build a business of some sort.

As a matter of fact, chances are that this article, no matter how timely and important it is, will simply fall into the world of obscurity on the net. Anyone that does find this information, will likely not take the time to enter the links below, to discover some gems of gold that can be had.

The 80/20 Rule

What is the 80/20 Rule of MLM [Multi-Level Marketing] /Network Marketing? This is an economic test to understand why there is such a high failure rate in the MLM/Network Marketing industry. As you read this article you will learn why there is such a high failure rate and how to eliminate it.

Now let me make something clear right up front! I know that you get bombarded with information daily about the latest greatest company deal and have developed resistance against the MLM industry because of this. Some of you probably get turned off when you hear the term MLM. I consider myself blessed that you are reading this article, and assure you that when you read this article you will understand the MLM/Network Marketing industry differently.

Now let us look at the MLM industry based on Vilfredo Paretos 80/20 Rule. For those of you who are not familiar with this theory it is an economic theory that proves that a small amount of people will always control a large amount of Wealth or what ever the program is. Let us apply this theory to the MLM/Network Marketing industry.

The MLM industry will grow in 2010 to a 200 Billion-Dollar industry annually, which is not some small industry. It is a very large industry so we must understand that somewhere people are doing this right. Even though we see a high failure rate we must understand why this happens. Lets look at the 80/20 rule and can see that 20% of the people control 80% of the revenue stream. This also shows that 80% of the people control 20% of the revenue.

This is where the problem comes from! The 80% group that are earning 20% of the revenue do not understand what they are doing. They are leading the people they come in contact with astray and down a path toward failure. Why would anyone listen to someone who is only responsible for a small amount of the revenue? The answer to this is because the majority of people do not know how to tell what this 80% group does not know.

How do you recognize this group? This group pushes products first instead of process. Never will anyone be successful in the MLM industry pushing products first. The MLM business model is not product driven; it is driven by process. If you understand the process of how to use the MLM business model, it really doesn?t matter what company you use. Although you want to find a company that is solid, the search for the right company is secondary to understanding the right process.

A great analogy to explain this concept is the following, imagine that you are playing baseball in the World Series and you are given the choice of using Babe Ruths bat or having his ability, which would you pick? I would hope that you would pick his ability! Having Babe Ruths ability would allow you to hit home runs using any bat. Right, you could pick up any bat and hit home runs since you have the ability to swing the bat in a coordinated fashion allowing you to connect with the ball in a perfect way. This holds true with the MLM/Network Marketing business model. The ability is the process; the company that you use is the bat. Without the right process no matter what company you use, you will likely fail.

We teach you the process, we make sure that you understand, how to understand the MLM business model and we work with you until you to know how to use it. We do not focus on the company since that is the bat and only the vehicle to hit the home runs.

The 80% are focusing on the companies and their products [bat] and nothing else. They do not know how to teach what the 20% are doing. They simply do not understand how to operate the MLM business model and consequently lead people astray.

We want more BANG for the buck.

Today's note is about making the most of "Guaranteed Traffic".

If you don't know what is meant by "Guaranteed Traffic" here is
the short version:

TrafficWave.net has set up agreements with a variety
of sites to purchase their exit traffic.

"Exit Traffic" is what we call the action of someone LEAVING
(or exiting) a web site.

They either close their browser or they leave the site to go to a
different web site. When they do, a new browser window opens up.

This window is commonly referred to as a pop-up or a pop-under
depending on where it comes up on the screen.

We have all seen them, I'm sure. Some of us hate them. Some of us
love them. Some of us don't care. But for internet advertisers,
they can be a valuable resource for gaining web site exposure.

As an advertiser, you can buy a this exit traffic for your own
web site. This means that when that pop-up window comes up, it
will have your web site in it.

One of the big advantages of this type of advertising over banner
advertising, link exchanges, etc... is that your ad shows up as a
full web page instead of a small single line of text or a small
banner graphic.

So... how do you put all of that to best use for you?

The key is to make sure you are promoting a page that does a few things:

1) Loads very quickly.
2) Has an attention grabbing headline or offer
3) Has a form for visitors to fill out so you can follow up with them.

capture their information so you can follow up with more information

on your virtual door step and you need to capture their attention and
their information as quickly as you can.

As an example, I use a very simple (yet very effective) form that most
of you reading this message may remember. It's how you got on this

This page has an attention grabbing headline/offer.
This page has a form for visitors to request more information.

Once you have those elements in place, there is a step that you
absolutely must not overlook if you want to succeed.

This is a CRITICAL point I am about to make and I want you to be
absolutely sure you do not take it lightly:

THE KEY TO SUCCESSFUL ADVERTISING IS IN TESTING... TESTING... AND
TESTING SOME MORE.

I know... you've read that phrase from me several times. And you
are going to read it many more times as we are all doing business
together. The reason is simple. If you get this one concept down
you win. If you do NOT get this one concept down you might get
lucky every once in a while... but NOBODY (including me) is good
enough to let luck control how I spend my advertising money.

When you are popping up a page on someone's browser, your
headline has to be STRONG! Your offer has to be CLEAR and the
BENEFIT of what you are offering has to JUMP OFF THE PAGE at the
reader.

If these things aren't happening, the reader simply mutters under
their breath, closes the window, and moves on to another site.

THE KEY TO SUCCESSFUL ATTENTION GETTING OFFERS IS IN THE
HEADLINE!

The Headline is the first thing the readers are going to see.
When you read a paper (or an online news site) your eye quickly
scans the headlines to see what is of interest. If you don't see
something pretty quick, you move on.

Advertising works the same way. When your ad pops up on someone's
browser, they are going to give it a quick look (they have no
choice... it's right in front of them) and if they don't see
something that is of interest to them INSTANTLY they are going to
leave.

This is why you must TEST DIFFERENT HEADLINES until you find the
one(s) that work for your offer.

In this industry, its a well known fact that most people will not become successful. They will simply lay down their money to some MLM or network marketing company, receive their very own affiliate website, complete with their contact information, and really believe that now, they are ready to make money online. I see this every day. I even see this on the Internet Tales and Tips SEO Forum! I put together a powerful online promoting system, that anyone at all is able to use, by simply filling out a contact form, and receiving instructions from there, and how many people do you think actually take time to utilize this forum? Well, let me make a count...

There are 43 people registered here. Of those 43, there are only less than 10 people that even take the time, or make a positive move to post one article! Those that do post regularly, get their information seen far and wide on Google. I would think that this should give you a pretty fair idea of the problems in the home business industry!

Let me put into one word: APATHY!

It is evident to me, and I can say this from years of training people in the art and science of search engine optimization, that there are only a handful of people on the Internet that are actually working their business. All the others are simply hoping and praying that someone, somewhere, will find their information, signup for their business, and they will make money online with no effort.

Now, I have been known to get off on a Dennis Miller Rant from time to time, but I think that its about time for the truth to be told. The only way that you are going to build a business on Google, is to get off of your Facebook account will all your buddies, turn off the Skype chat, sit down, and begin to write content. If you think that you are going to instantly get rich with no effort here, you have a much better shot at taking a trip to Vegas, and playing the slots! It will not happen. It has never happened, and it never will happen.

The people who make money on the Internet are people who actually sit and work their businesses day after day, no matter what the results that they immediately see, and just keep working. They never lose site of the fact that it is possible to make money online from a home business, but unless you become pro-active in that business, absolutely NOTHING will happen!

I was thinking this morning, that if I were to choose a business mentor, what would I look for? What would be some questions that I would pose to this person, before I decided to join the program?

I decided to post this article, thinking that some of my Google readers might just gain some interesting insights and perspectives into the whole process of business mentoring.

What is a Mentor?

In my way of thinking, it should be a person who is well schooled in the area of mentorship they are promoting. They should be professional in their approach, and have systems locked firmly in place, that will help me to achieve my goals, whatever they may be. Just talking a big game, is definitely not the same as being able to walk the walk.

What does a Mentor do?

A mentor is a person who is willing to help people who are wanting to help themselves. I would certainly not think of a business mentor who would be anything but very rigorous in their approach. Not everyone would be able to withstand a rigorous mentoring program. The 80/20 rule would certainly apply in any business model. If I chose to become a mentee, then I would want to be very dedicated and persistent in my approach.

How much could a Mentor accomplish for the protege?

Certainly the mentor can only provide the guidelines and road maps. It would be up to the person needing the mentoring, to take the bull by the horns and run with it. I know in MLM and network marketing, most will never accomplish any real work at all. I also know, that after teaching and mentoring search engine optimization for years, only a handful will ever pickup the ball and run with it.

What would it cost to become a business mentee?

I would be well prepared to pay for services, IF I thought that I would receive valuable information. The cost of becoming a mentor would be solely up to the person conducting the mentoring program. If someone told me that mentoring were free, I would laugh, and simply walk away. I know for a fact that nothing is free in this life, and you definitely receive what you pay for.

How much work would I have to do in joining a mentoring program?

I would personally think that the key to my success would be directly related to my personal initiative, and the amount of time and energy that I would spend in developing a professional business of any type. It would require the time that it would require.
